Street Maintenance

The primary function of the Street Department is to maintain streets; pour sidewalks, repair and repave roads;install street signs; remove dead trees from right-of-ways; mow right-of-ways ; clean up after natural diasters, such as the removal of brush and snow.

The Street Division maintains 14 miles of town streets in Coats. The North Carolina Department of Transportation maintains all state roads within Coats. The Town receives state money through the Powell Bill; this money is used to maintain streets through repairs and improvements.
