Campbell University Partnership for Community Day of Service

Town of Coats Partners with Campbell University for Community Day of Service

The Town of Coats Parks & Recreation Department was proud to partner with Campbell University for their Community Day of Service on March 26, 2026. This collaboration brought a dedicated group of student volunteers out to the park for a day focused on enhancing both the beauty and ecological health of our park.

During their first project, students worked to plant a variety of pollinator-friendly plants around the park’s front entrance and in several additional areas throughout the park. These new plantings will not only add vibrant color and curb appeal but will also support local wildlife by providing essential resources for pollinators such as bees and butterflies.

Later, students returned to the park to take part in a second hands-on project constructing and installing four bluebird houses along our loop trail. These houses were strategically placed to create safe nesting opportunities for Eastern bluebirds, helping to promote local bird populations and enhance the park’s natural habitat.

This partnership marks an exciting step forward in building a strong relationship between the Town of Coats and Campbell University. We are incredibly grateful for the students’ hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment to service. Their efforts have made a lasting impact on our park and community.

We look forward to continuing this partnership in the future and are excited about the opportunities ahead to collaborate on additional projects that benefit our environment and residents alike.
