Position: Public Works Director

 Job Description:

The Town of Coats is seeking a self-motivated and professional candidate for the role of Public Works Director.  In this role, the successful candidate will be tasked to direct and supervise employees and contractors engaged in the maintenance of the water distribution system including leak detection and repair; meter installation and repair; yard waste collection; equipment maintenance, grounds and rights of way clearing maintenance; and related services.   

 Responsibilities will range from operating a backhoe to submitting required reports to the State of NC on water usage, water supply and quality.  The Director will supervise three full-time staff. 

The minimum starting salary for this position is $52,875; however, salary may be higher commensurate with a combination of education and relevant experience.

 The Town of Coats is updating its Comprehensive Land Use Plan, a roadmap for the Town to direct future growth, development, and investments over the next 10-20 years.
